Již tři desetiletí je Texaský masakr motorovou pilou legendou a jedním z nejděsivějších filmů, které se kdy dostaly na plátna kin. Od roku 1974, kdy do kin přišla původní verze, fanoušci diskutovali a zrodu legendárního zabijáka – ale až nyní přichází New Line Cinema ve spolupráci s producentem Michaelem Bayem s tím, jak vlastně celý příběh začal. Vznikl Texaský masakr motorovou pilou: Počátek. Tento film vzniká v produkci A Platinum Dunes / Next Entertainment Production a A Vortex/Henkel/Hooper Production.
